Water Conservation

Mount Baker

Abbotsford and Mission receive an abundant amount of precipitation (rain or snow) from October to May and many residents wonder why we need to conserve water with the amount of precipitation we receive.

While our water system can easily meet the average demand of 75 million litres per day, our summer consumption can almost double that amount.

With a system capacity of 143 million litres per day, peak day demands have come close to the capacity.

Our goal is to achieve a 25% reduction in per capita water use over the next five years
